Overview
AReviews ("the App", "we", "us") provides a service to import, collect and display product reviews ("the Service") to merchants who use Shopify or WooCommerce to power their stores. This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you install or use the App in connection with your store.
Personal Information the App Collects
When you install the App, we are automatically able to access certain information from your Shopify account: your store name and domain, the store owner's name and email address, and your store's products. We do not collect any data from you beyond what is required to run the Service.
With your permission and approval after installation, we also access your orders, including the customer's name and email address, so that the App can send review request emails on your behalf after a purchase and display verified reviews for each product.
We also collect information that your customers submit through our widgets — reviews, ratings, photos, questions and answers, and the name and email address they provide with them — and we store customer locations (country) to help you with targeting and to show where your reviews come from.
Reviews imported from external marketplaces (for example AliExpress or Amazon) are publicly available content; we store them under your store so you can display them.
How Do We Use Your Personal Information?
We use the personal information we collect from you and your customers only in order to provide the Service and to operate the App: to import, store and display reviews, to send review request emails, to help you with targeting by storing customer locations, to provide support, and to improve the App. We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for advertising.
Sharing Your Personal Information
We do not share your information with third parties except as needed to run the Service: Shopify, our hosting and email delivery providers, and — only if you enable them from the dashboard — the integrations you connect, such as Klaviyo, AfterShip or Google Shopping. If you enable review translation, review text is sent to Google Translate. Questions you send to our AI support chat are processed by an AI provider (OpenAI or DeepSeek) in order to answer them; please do not include personal data in support messages.
If you choose to connect your Gmail account, we use the Gmail permission you grant only to send review request emails from your own address on your behalf. We do not read your inbox, and you can revoke this access at any time from your Google account.
Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.
Data Retention and Deletion
We keep your store data, orders and reviews for as long as the App is installed. When you uninstall the App, or when Shopify sends us a shop deletion request, your store's data is deleted from our systems. If a customer asks you to delete or export their data, Shopify forwards that request to us and we honour it. You can also contact us directly at any time to request deletion.
Use of Chrome Extension
The AReviews Chrome extension collects product IDs, product URLs and your shop name in order to save you manual work. When you click import on a supported marketplace page, it also reads the publicly visible review data on that page — only at your request — and sends it to your AReviews account. It does not read or share any other data from the pages you visit.
Security
Store access tokens and data are transmitted over HTTPS and stored on access-controlled servers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Your Rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have the right to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. Merchants can manage most data from the dashboard; for anything else, or if you are a customer of a store using the App, contact us or the store you purchased from.
Limitation of Liability
In no event shall AReviews, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (i) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service; (ii) any conduct or content of any third party on the Service; (iii) any content obtained from the Service; and (iv) unauthorized access, use or alteration of your transmissions or content, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence) or any other legal theory, whether or not we have been informed of the possibility of such damage, and even if a remedy set forth herein is found to have failed of its essential purpose.

Your use of the Service is at your sole risk. The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement or course of performance.
AReviews, its subsidiaries, affiliates, and its licensors do not warrant that a) the Service will function uninterrupted, secure or available at any particular time or location; b) any errors or defects will be corrected; c) the Service is free of viruses or other harmful components; or d) the results of using the Service will meet your requirements.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. If a change is material we will give at least 30 days notice before it takes effect. By continuing to use the Service after a revision becomes effective, you agree to be bound by the revised policy.
